DeskJet 6122 Printer Driver - HOME USERS - FOR USB OR PARALLEL CABLE (American English) This driver is designed for use on computers that will be directly connected to the printer from the computer through: A parallel cable on Windows 95/­98/­ME.­ A USB or parallel cable on Windows 98/­ME.­ Installation instructions: Caution! The printer's (USB or Parallel) cable must be unplugged before proceeding! Create a new folder on the hard drive before downloading the printer driver.­ Suggestion: "c:\dj6122" Download the driver to the newly created c:\dj6122 folder.­ Open the c:\dj6122 folder and double-click on the downloaded "exe" file to extract the driver files.­ Note: The extraction process will create a series of folders under the c:\dj6122 folder that you downloaded the driver file into.­ Connect the cable (USB or Parallel) from the PC to the printer.­ When the "Add New Hardware Wizard" screen appears,­ click "Next".­ Note: If the "Add New Hardware Wizard" does not appear,­ restart Windows and continue with step 6.­ In the next window,­ select "Search for the best driver for your device" and click "Next".­ In the next window,­ select "Specify a Location" and click the "Browse" button.­ In the "Browse for Folder" window,­ locate the folder where you downloaded and extracted the driver files and select the "6122" folder (C:\dj6122\6122) and click "OK".­ The Add New Hardware Wizard will find the correct driver for your printer.­ Click "Next" to continue.­ In the next window,­ click "Finish".­ The printer driver files will now be installed and the hp deskjet 6122 series icon will be added to the "Printers" folder.­
